Toni has been nursing for 30 years and a Nurse Practitioner since 2013. She specialises in Diabetes management and transgender healthcare using the informed consent model for 18+. She is committed to providing respectful healthcare for all and was a 2023 finalist for the Health Ministers trailblazer award.

Toni brings deep compassion and powerful desire to see all people, regardless of their circumstances, access high quality health care.

 

After completing her nursing degree at the University of South Australia in 1993 she then pursued a Grad. certificate in Diabetes management in 2008 and a Master of Nurse Practitioner in 2013. She is currently studying a Grad. cert in mental health and a Master of Health and Clinical Research.

 

Toni provides healthcare to people with Diabetes and transgender and gender diverse healthcare. In 2023, she was a finalist for the Health Ministers Trailblazer award for her work in Transgender healthcare.Toni is a Senior Lecturer and endorsed Nurse Practitioner at the University of South Australia Clinical and Health Sciences. She is Co- Chair of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) NP education subgroup. Toni is also on the NP committee of the Australian Nursing and Membership Committee Council (ANMAC) and is a member of the Australian NP academics collaborative (ANPAC) and  ACNP committee member

Jo is a nurse practitioner with over 20 years’ experience as a registered nurse. She has a wealth of experience and post graduate qualifications in both acute and primary health care, and significant management and leadership capabilities.

 

Jo has a passion for learning and personal development, loves working with people to deliver tangible outcomes and has an in depth understanding of Australia’s primary health care system. During her diverse career, she has developed expertise in chronic disease management, cardiac and coronary care, triage, immunisation, wound care and preventative health care.

 

Jo started her career in the hospital setting, working in a number of roles including coronary care units, infectious diseases wards and intensive care units. She then transitioned to primary health care in 2001 and since then has occupied a number of advanced practice roles. Throughout her career she has obtained post-graduate certificates and diplomas in primary health care, cardiovascular nursing, management, and business, and in 2018 gained endorsement as a nurse practitioner.

Sue Sharrad has over 40 years’ experience in nursing, working in a variety of settings and in a variety of roles. Her clinical area of speciality includes Parkinson’s disease Nursing.

Sue has also over 10 years’ experience working in an academic setting being involved in the education of both undergraduate and post graduate students. She has published in peer reviewed journals, supervised Masters students to completion and is the co-supervisor of two PhD students.

Additionally, as part of her academic role at the University Sue recently initiated the first Nurse-led Parkinson’s disease clinic in the University health services.

Sue’s research interests are motivated by improving the lives of people who live in regional areas of Australia. Thus, she was the chief investigator on the following grant funded projects; ‘Investigation and development of a regional stroke coordinator role for South Australia’ and ‘Understanding the management of Parkinson’s disease in rural, regional and remote South Australia’ in which she is working with an interdisciplinary team at the University of South Australia to initiate the first regional interdisciplinary clinic for people living with Parkinson’s disease in South Australia.

Sue is a member of the Australasian Neuroscience Nurses Association, a member of the South Australian Department of Health and Wellbeing’s Human Research Ethics Committee and the Hospital Research Foundation’s Clinical Governance Committee.

David is a credentialed Registered Mental Health Nurse with extensive experience spanning diverse mental healthcare settings in Australia and the UK. David’s expertise lies in Military and First Responder Mental Health care, recovery, and wellbeing. He also has a wealth of experience working within a recovery model for individuals with eating disorders and adult mental health treatment and support.

David also holds the position of a Specialist Reservist Nursing Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, focusing on ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing. His knowledge in this area is evident for his passion in supporting and developing tailored individual mental health programs for defence members, veterans, and emergency service personnel.

David is dedicated to advancing mental health initiatives and contributing to overall community welfare through mental health counselling, health education and wellbeing for individuals, while also providing mental health awareness and promotion for groups and corporations.

Daniela Nash is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator.

She is the ADEA Chair for South Australia and currently studying Masters of Nurse Practitioner at Flinders University. Daniela was awarded 2023 CDE of the Year in SA.

Daniela works in private practice. She has a passion to teach diabetes self-management to people living with diabetes and mentoring new diabetes educators.

A proud graduate of The University of Adelaide with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Emilia is deeply dedicated to Preventative and Community Health.

Her practical skills include suturing and assisting with procedures, reflecting her commitment to delivering high-quality care tailored to individual needs. In her spare time, Emilia is passionate about musical theatre and is a member of a local Adelaide performing arts company

Chloe Yuen is a dedicated registered nurse, having graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of South Australia in 2023. Her experience spans aged care and hospital settings, where she has developed a passion for providing compassionate and holistic care. She especially enjoys working with babies and young families, finding great fulfilment in supporting their health and well-being.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her pets—a lively dog and a pair of affectionate cats. Being multilingual in Mandarin and Cantonese allows her to connect with a diverse range of individuals, ensuring that language is never a barrier to delivering high-quality care.

She is passionate about all aspects of her role and takes pride in making a positive difference in the lives of others.
