Our teaching and learning opportunities are facilitated by experienced and enthusiastic GP teachers.

Medical students can expect to be ‘hands-on’ in a wide range of clinical services and learn new and extended skills in this innovative practice. You may even be involved in undertaking a clinical audit to help research and review our clinical programs

Any attending medical student should note patients and/or the Doctor can elect to preclude students from consultations at their discretion.

The Practice can accommodate nursing and/or allied health student placements which complement their course work and required development.

Competition for these placements is challenging so all requests will be considered in conjunction with the UniSA placement coordinator.

With prior negotiation, we can provide clinical placement opportunities for Nursing students with a particular interest in rural/practice nursing at our rural practice in Yankalilla. (www.sffp.com.au).

We provide placement opportunities for GP Registrars who have elected to complete further GP training as a specialist pathway and towards their fellowship. Registrars will be involved in all practice work and programs so they fully develop their consulting skills and experience within the diversity of programs offered on campus. With experienced GP Supervisors and a supportive learning and teaching environment, GP Registrars can expect an exemplary experience.

The Practice does has a quality assurance program which included internal audits of the work processes and patient outcomes. This research is used within the practice only and is used to improve operational programs for ongoing patient benefit.

Patient confidentiality is maintained in all processes.

The Practice will also participate in additional research undertaken in conjunction with the UniSA health.

All patients involved in any research work will knowingly volunteer and be fully aware of their participation. All research will also be subject to all protocols being met.
